Our Founder’s Story
A personal journey that planted the seed for KinderBuds.
The inspiration behind KinderBuds began with a personal story: our founder, a Singaporean, grew up in the local bilingual education system. On paper, he is fluent in both English and Chinese. But after moving to China, he realised that he struggled to carry out even simple conversations in Mandarin.
That experience was a turning point.
It highlighted a gap that many Singaporean families face—our children can read and write Mandarin, but many lack the confidence and fluency to speak it naturally. This led him to create KinderBuds: a preschool where Mandarin is not just a subject, but a living, breathing language woven into daily life.
His goal is simple yet powerful: to help the next generation truly thrive in both languages, starting from the earliest years.
